Injection Molding Process

 Injection Molding Process

As the name suggests in this molten material (thermoplastic material mostly) is use for injection material to get the desired product

Working Injection Molding Process:

  • In this pellet is feed first which are compressed by the spiral plunger to reduce the air gap and later onwards they heated up to a stage where they will convert it into a molten state.
  • Then the spiral plunger rotate and move forward to feed the molten thermoplastic into the die cavity by the nozzle to get the desired shape product
  • When spiral plunger moves backward check ring and thrust ring stop the backward flow of the molten thermoplastic

Advantages of Injection Molding Process:
  • Complex shape can be made by this process
  • Good production capacity
  • Good Dimensional Accuracy
Disadvantage of Injection Molding Process:

  • High Initial Cost
  • High Tool cost
  • Not very small and too big size can be used for this process
  • Experties need for the design for die use in injection molding process to prevent unnecessary leakage of the material
Applications of Injection Molding Process:
  • Toys , product covers ,chair and much more
